چکیده

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are known as efficient drug carriers. To improve their interaction with other materials, surface modification of MWCNTs is necessary. In this work, were functionalized acid and polysaccharides (chitosan gelatin). The functionalization process was done via solutions nitric acid, sulfuric a mixture acid-sulfuric first, followed by chitosan gelatin. achieve the optimum condition functionalization, reaction time, temperature, ratio varied. Furthermore, effect gelatin addition into studied at various mass ratios. synthesized materials characterized Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer, Boehm titration, dispersion test. titration results showed that functional groups had been attached successfully to surface. amount increased along time. highest acidic group obtained from data 2.33 mmol/g. Adsorption of Humic Acid On Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

Background: Natural organic matters (NOMs) have the main role in formation of trihalomethanes. These compounds are in natural water sources due to biological activities. In the presented study, adsorption and separation of humic acid as an index of natural organic matters using multi-walled carbon nanotubes is evaluated. Methods: The experiments were carried out in bath adsorption reactors wit...

Continuum models of multi-walled carbon nanotubes

Molecular mechanics (MM) simulations have been carried out to determine energetically favorable double-walled carbon nanotube (DWNT) structures, and analyze their infinitesimal extensional, torsional, radial expansion/contraction, and bending deformations. Loads are applied either to one wall or simultaneously to both walls of an open-ended DWNT. These results are compared against single-walled...

Telescopic Oscillations of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

A simplified theory of the telescopic oscillations in multiwalled carbon nanotube is developed. The explicit expressions for the telescopic force constants (longitudinal rigidity) and frequencies for telescopic oscillations are derived depending on interacting tubes diameters and lengths. The contribution of small-amplitude telescopic oscillations to low temperature characteristics of nanotubes...

Nonlinear Vibration of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes

carbon nanotube is investigated based on an elastic multi-layer shell model with van der Waals interaction taken into consideration. The multi-walled carbon nanotube is described as an individual elastic shell and the interlayer friction is negligible between the inner and outer tubes in the proposed model. And the Donnell equations of cylindrical shells are employed to describe the nonlinear b...

Bio-functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes.

Here we present a hybrid approach to functionalize multi-walled carbon nanotubes in aqueous solution, exploring a non-covalent binding strategy. We focus on formation of hybrid complexes consisting of carbon nanotubes decorated by single stranded DNA, non-covalently attached using surfactants as intermediate layers. Unlike single walled carbon nanotubes, revealing easy side wall wrapping of DNA...
